POLICE URGE SHOPPERS TO PREVENT CAR BURGLARY
Full Description:
Most people do their holiday shopping in stores and at malls.
Others, much to the chagrin of police and their victims, prefer perusing the gifts stashed in parked cars.
After shopping in Round Rock, Donna Mabe of Austin loaded her packages into the back of her vehicle, as police suggest. She said she would have concealed them with a cover if she were not heading home.
Vehicle burglaries happen year-round, but they seem to pick up during the holiday season, when the goods are more accessible, said Capt. Debbie Dugger of the Cedar Park Police Department.
